The raven cycle

If you haven't read the raven cycle, I'll quickly explain it without giving many spoilers away. Henrietta is a small town in Virginia. It's a source of magic, of ley lines ( specifically with a main ley line that needs to be awakened. ) and Richard Gansey, along with Adam, Noah, Ronan Lynch and soon Blue Sargent, are searching for a dead Welsh king, sleeping, waiting to be awoken. And soon they discover something, a forest; trees that speak latin, and they, the trees, call themselves: cabeswater.

There's no law of physics in Cabeswater. Impossible things could be possible. It could be midnight out there, but in this forest? It could be day. It's magical.

I portray adam, an exhausted teenager trying so hard to work and study. he has a scholarship at aglionby academy; a school for politicians' sons, oil barons' sons, perhaps even the sons of mistresses living off hush money. either way, it's an prestigious all-boys school, pre-Ivy League.

Anyway, i am emma. age 24. living in the united kingdom. i have my range of health issues: eczema, asthma, bloodclot. so i won't be active 24/7. i have a life behind this screen, however, i immensely love adam parrish, and i wanna give him justice and simply have fun. ( I feel like he's my comfort character, and i love him dearly, even if he is a fictional character lmao. )

shipping. when it comes to shipping, I prefer development to happen between our muses. think of it as foundation; strength between our muses consisting of their moments, something to cherish. that and Adam isn't used to relationships. he's touch-starved, poor on love since his parents barely gave him any. yet he wants to try, however, he's afraid that he may not have enough love to give.

A year. It's been a whole year since Adam woke up in the box, brought up to the surface and found himself in a place labelled as the Glade. Adam ( like any Glader here. ) was confused; he had no memories for starters. All he can remember is his name, and how some things in this world worked. What he couldn't put was the names to blurred faces in his memories. ( Like the angry man, yelling, spitting. )

But eventually, Adam gets used to the Glade. He becomes a Track-Hoe ( Gardener ) and finds the Gardens comfortable. The dirt, in particular, makes him feel sad and happy. Sad because it felt like a certain type of dirt in a different place made him feel sad, whereas this dirt was good; it doesn't have any bad memories, not like the other dirt.

A new transfer to aglionby academy, following the steps of a previous Parrish ( from years ago ) had achieved what adam wanted to achieve. To feel accomplished, to make his life have some meaning. And to graduate and make it to an ivy league, specifically one like Harvard or Princeton.

He found it so difficult to convince his father, who, of course, had different ( and insulting ) opinions towards rich people and their luxuries; of their prestigious schools, etc. However, Adam planned this logically and cautiously, suggesting that if he gets a scholarship then his father wouldn't need to pay. Of course, robert ( his father ) took offense to this, but in the end, Adam got what he wanted. He just... didn't want to attend the ceremony sporting a bruise on his cheek, and with his father sitting next to him, scowling.

Soon he's free from him, now satisfied that he had a room and a roommate. Richard Gansey.

The circles are done for, and Adam, now an apostate, wanders Ferelden; alone, companionless. He refuses to pick a side, going for rational thinking than charging forward and following like idiots. He didn't want to die. He doesn't want to be slain by a templar or three. So he wanders, helps those who need it. He rarely uses his blood magic these days unless it's necessary. So mostly you'll find him using elements and creation.

If he's a companion over at skyhold, he would do what he can to help the cause. If it's deemed necessary or is down to the only option, Adam will use his blood magic for the sake of protecting his companions. He has a small knife for these sorts of moments hidden in his boot. ( or sometimes hidden in his sleeve, just tucked away tightly and securely. )

but you wonder: how did he know blood magic? he'd been a naive kid. scared. abused. and sought out power from a demon that's been summoned. he sacrificed something from himself in order to gain knowledge of how to use blood magic. he did it to kill his own father. and then left, went to a templar and eventually ended up in the circle where he'd learn other kinds of magic.

Adam Parrish, A Edgar Allen Raven: Dealer, number #7.

Regrets have been made with his choices; the ravens ( mostly the master, tetsuji moriyama ) mandating his idea of living, restricting his freedom, made sure that Adam wore his hearing aid which was purposely discrete, placed in his ear canal. ( since he was deaf in his left ear, damaged left by his abusive father back in Virginia. covered it up by saying it was an exy accident. )

He sought out freedom, his life in Virginia trapped him in his old home: a double-wide trailer, under the roof of a remorseless man with a thundering temper, and a mother who did nothing. Exy, to him, was an escape soon to turn into a promising career when he gained his sports scholarship. Then it was off to his choice of university, which was Edgar Allen University due to their prime exy team and their opportunities.

But after ruthless drills, his stubbornness fuelling him, his pride ignoring his frustrations and doubts of making it, made him late to realize how trapped he is. Like the phrase says: out of the frying pan and into the fire.

A shadysider who lives in shadyside's trailer park with his parents: one abusive father and his mother who has Battered woman syndrome. One of the counsellors at camp nightwing until the massacre of '78. He picked Camp Nightwing over spending his days at home, where the grass in shadeside's trailer park is bleak, like his dusty brown hair. Where his father would yell and drink himself into a drunken stupor. where he'd spend his days afraid, tip-toeing and escaping the house via bike to work on homework and dream about starting a new life in sunnyvale.

Need more time to think about this, but all i've come up right now that adam has left shadyside when he was 20-something, got a scholarship at an ivy league university and eventually came back to sunnyvale to start his new life as a sunnyvaler.

Two psychics move into beacon hills: Persephone Poldma, professional psychic, mentor, likes to be cryptic. And Adam Parrish, psychic-in-training, deaf in his left ear.

He's here because of Persephone; because of the tarot cards; because of what was hidden within. Past, present and future: Seven of wands, reversed five of swords and the magician. The first one ( the past ) is him still believing in his own survival in his abusive household. The second one ( present ) is him losing no matter what, possibly dying under his father's angry iron fist. the last one ( future ) is him making his dreams come true, but it wouldn't happen here, not in Henrietta. He soon remembers that he has an uncle, jordan parrish, robert's younger brother, living in beacon hills. ( He knows this by looking at a recent discarded letter and seeing another address. )

And Persephone offers to him, maybe even being drawn by the idea of beacon hills. She allowed him to keep the magician as a token, something to remember why he's there in the first place. She makes sure that Adam enrols in beacon hill's high school too. And eventually, Adam hopes to meet with his uncle and speak to him when he has the courage, too.

20, working on his bachelor's degree, a part-time mechanic, part-time psychic medium. So yes, before you say anything, he does see dead people. But not always.

Most of the time its glimpses, fade-away figures, that sort of thing. The rest is just whispers in his left ear. ( he's deaf in that ear, so he can determine who is speaking from what side they're on. On the right, they're alive, and bugging him with something. And on the left, they're dead, whispering for something, answers, asking about loved ones. )

It was midnight, April 24th, where Adam saw his grandmother in some derelict church. She was different, ghost-like, standing there before disappearing. Adam ran back to his home, and days later, his grandma passed away.

However, Adam kept seeing her still. a figure in the distance, sometimes by the doorway, staring at him as if watching over him. Eventually, once he moved out, his grandma didn't follow as if she moved out too or in other words: moved on.

Adam, a mechanic, busing up tables at Nino’s and a factory worker, has a passion for music, or used too. His only acoustic guitar was broken by the hands of his abusive father, shattered it in pieces in a fit of rage; it had been the final straw when Adam attempted to go to his guitar lessons, paying it with his own money that he’d worked for. All he had left was the guitar pick that made it all happened, that made him do all of this because Adam thought it was fate.

But maybe fate wasn’t over. Adam had no idea about what could happen in the next couple of months. He may have no idea that it’ll be possible for him to join a band. He loved the concept of singing and playing, and simply being free. To get out of this town. To re-imagine himself to be a different person. But it was all about the music in the end, and how it made him feel. ( & that fate may involve a certain someone dressed in black who was already in a band; a man with attitude, chewed on his leather bracelets and had a fiery temper. )

Has strong feelings towards Ronan. He still remembers how the man kissed his knuckles so softly that it was the only thing Adam could think about. Even to this day, Adam's heart beats a skip every time he thinks about it, and how ronan was sharing his wealth of love with him.

18 months of friendship ( & observing gansey's mannerisms ) lead to Adam caring for him. He's jealous ( & envious ) of how Gansey holds himself; how cool-headed he is when all attention is on him, the life he has, the money that he's loaded with. But nonetheless, Gansey is his friend, a good friend, his best friend.

step by step, a maybe eventually becomes a definitely between them as their relationship grows. From a friend to a boyfriend. secrets were kept, now those secrets had unfolded between them; peter, a superhero, spiderman. adam, a psychic, bargained his free will to a magical forest.

He has a connection with her — maybe it was his attraction towards her or how he felt more comfortable around her. Perhaps it was their similar experience with money, with working. And simply talking freely while they sit at her tree. Adam considers her a good friend. ( maybe something more )

In the Skyrim verse, merlin and adam knew each other from childhood; both were born and raised in Riverwood where both spent their days working, their friendship blossoming over time. eventually, since their magic had potential, at the age of twenty, they both left their home ( to adam, it wasn't much of a home. ) and travelled to winterhold. to the mage's guild. From there, something else blossomed; a stronger connection between them, a love that was growing and soon they shared a kiss. Adam felt a dangerous feeling; a want, a need, to learn of this unknown origin, and to find out what these feelings are.
